After a quick safety briefing and gear check you’ll board the helicopter and whisk off to the alpine meadows, well above timberline. Your guide is an experienced naturalist, knowledgeable about the area and the abundant wildlife and vegetation. June is mating season for the bears and they’ll be very active after a long winter hibernation. In July expect endless wildflowers, in August and September it’s berries galore plus the vibrant colors of fall.
The helicopter will drop you off in the high country where spectacular scenery surrounds you. Together you determine ahead of time how long and strenuous you wish to hike. Some people just want to stretch their legs and take pictures for a few hours while others want to scramble all the way to the top of one of the peaks and spend up to 4 hours in the mountains.
