Dog Sled Tour

Classic Alaska Dogsled Tour with extra Glacier Landing

Total tour time is approximately two hours: 35 minute helicopter tour - 1 hour classic glacier dogsled tour & 25 minutes on the lower glacier to explore the blue ice and the melt pools.

BEST VALUE! Combine our popular Classic Dogsled Tour with an extra landing on the lower glacier where you’ll see the deep blue ice of the crevasses, the melt pools and other cool features.

Start this adventure out with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a snow field high on a glacier and enjoy an hour with Iditarod sled dogs and their mushers. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow in the middle of summer. You can even stand on the runners and mush your own dog team.

After the dogsled tour, hop back in the helicopter and zip down to the lower glacier where you will land on the ice. Your pilot will show you how crevasses start out and explore the melt pools with the various shades of blue and the bizarre ice formations. This is a completely different world from the snow covered glacier at dog camp, so it really gives you a good insight in the unique cycle of glaciers. Come and experience them while they are still here! Transfers from Anchorage and Wasilla available. Extend your wilderness adventure with a stay in our beautiful cabins, or enjoy a meal in the award winning restaurant and soak in some more incredible views.
